📞 The New Banking Scam: “Call From Your Bank”

Scammers call pretending to be:
✔ Your bank
✔ Government agency
✔ Fraud department

Their goal:

Make you reveal login codes or transfer your money

This scam is called vishing (voice phishing).


🚫 Banks Will Never Ask For:

❌ Your online banking password
❌ Your debit card PIN
❌ A verification code they just texted you
❌ To transfer money to a “safe account”
❌ To screen-share your device

If someone asks for ANY of that:

Hang up immediately. It’s a scam.

✅ What To Do if You Get a Suspicious Call

1️⃣ Hang up — do not argue
2️⃣ Call the bank using numbers on your card or app
3️⃣ Report fraud if you gave any info
4️⃣ Change passwords immediately
5️⃣ Turn on multi-factor authentication (MFA)


✅ How Banks Actually Verify You

✅ They only ask for:

  • A few digits of SSN/card
  • Pre-chosen security questions

❌ They NEVER request full credentials or codes.
